The Taurus Season Pantry

While we tend to identify with our Sun Sign (Proud Pisces here!), or the big 3: Sun/Moon/Rising, we in fact have all 12 signs in our birth charts. This is great news as tapping into the wisdom of the monthly astrology season is another avenue to self-understanding.

Enter Taurus Season…

Taureans are sensual by nature and the foodies of the zodiac. They’re known for their voracious appetite (for life). But no matter where Taurus lands in your chart, April 20-May 20 is Taurus Season— a time to connect with your hunger for the finer things in life. If you're looking for something sure to please your inner Bull, look no further than these Taurus Season pleasures to fill your pantry, today, this month and year-round.

Go Robust

No matter your diet, vegan through omnivore, during Taurus season you might naturally feel the urge for more crisp, fresh salads, BUT! Don’t skimp on the good fats, texture and protein. If you like it, go bold. add it in. Walnuts, Furikake, Goji Berries, Grains like a Multi-Grain Rice Mix. Let the greens play second fiddle.

Go Savory

Being spring, there’s still the chance for chilly day. It’s very Taurean to hunker down with a recipe for boeuf bourguignon or a monkfruit stroganoff. We’d never suggest to hold back on seasoning, but your inner Bull wants you to avoid adding too much heat that could get in the way of savoring all the different flavors of your chosen dish. Do, however, add Umami Powder as little or as much as you like.

Umami is the Japanese concept of a “pleasant savory taste” which spreads across the mouth, enveloping the whole of the palate. Umami is a subtle sensory experience which is perfect for Taurus Season.

Go Sparkle

Water signs are said to be the drinkers of the zodiac, but Taureans (an earth sign) appreciate how the right wine can enhance a meal, and enjoy kicking back with a fancy mocktail/cocktail.

Something slightly sweet, sparkly, and luxurious like the Boketto Kir Royale suits Taurus Season. But maybe just one. Sensible earth signs are not keen on being drunk. Plus, with only two ingredients, this drink comes together quickly, which means any occasion can be a special one in no time flat.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Vers-eau Zero Proof Apertif
  • 6 fluid ounces of dry Champagne, Prosecco or Cava

Directions

  1. Pour Vers-eau Zero Proof Apertif into large Champagne flute or white wine glass.
  2. Top with sparkling wine of choice.
  3. For extra zhuzh, spear two blackberries and lay across the top of your glass.

Go Salty

Taurus’ body part is the throat and neck, meaning now is the time to tend to your thyroid health. Add iodine-rich foods including seaweed like Sea Clear, organ meats, plain yogurt, kidney/black/lima beans, eggs, and seafood. Also add sodium sulphate— foods such as asparagus, cranberries, Dark Chocolate, Canyon Coffee, kale, nuts, onions, and garlic are high in sulfates.

Oh, and if you do overindulge from time to time, a nice cup of fennel tea or Superwoman Tonic might help to reduce any discomfort you feel.
