What is Microneedling?
Like its namesake, Microneedling uses a device with hundreds of tiny needles is applied to the skin to produce microscopic puncture wounds in the top layers of the skin. The body naturally attempts to repair the damage by producing collagen and elastin during healing. Boosting collagen reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smoothes acne scars, restores lost volume, and improves the overall texture, firmness and thickness of the skin. The procedure also triggers the creation of new skin cells using the body’s natural healing process.

Is Microneedling Right for you?
Not all skin types and conditions are compatible with Microneedling— a consultation is required before booking your first appointment. During your consultation you will be advised on all options for your skin type and goals, including Microneedling. If it’s determined you’re a good fit you will book and pre-pay your treatment, and be given an at-home protocol on how to best prepare for your Microneedling session.
Those with eczema, rosacea, acne, keloids, and perioral dermatitis are usually not great candidates for the treatment.
Your Microneedling Appointment
Before the treatment, we prep the skin with a deep cleanse, then numbing cream will be applied. 20 minutes later, our trained practitioners, Jelena and Anne, begin the treatment with minimal discomfort. The actual Microneedling takes around 20 minutes. Afterwards, soothing serums and SPF will be applied. Your face can be red for up to 48 hours. You’ll look like you have a sunburn. We’ll send you home with a 3-day post-care protocol— products and instructions.
A day or two after your appointment, once the immediate redness subsides, you’ll look more radiant. But Microneedling also promises improvement over time. Treating the skin with multiple Microneedling sessions spaced at least one month apart can produce an increase in collagen and skin elasticity. Your consultation plus first treatment results will determine a good course of treatment.
Because the efficacy of Microneedling comes from the skin healing itself, some people may only see visible results after a few sessions.
