Recipe: Sun Tea Ice Cubes

Direct from our friends at Leaves & Flowers... a recipe for Sun Tea Ice Cubes!

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), High Summer is the time to be outside, harnessing the power of the sun, while taking it easy. We can’t think of a better accompaniment to this activity than enjoying Sun Tea.

Using the energy and heat from the sun, you can extract the power and flavor of herbs and flora to make a delicious elixir. We also encourage you to preserve your Sun Tea as ice cubes in your freezer.

Recipe

To make, combine:

  • 1 liter Spring or Filtered Water
  • 2 tbs of any Leaves & Flowers Tea (Asam Chai, Genmaicha, Mintha, SLeep, Ikebana)

Keep the above in a glass container for 2-4 hours in direct sunlight. Strain and enjoy a drink with or without ice, then pour the balance into an ice cube tray and freeze.

    How to use

Drop a couple cubes into bubbly water. Plop one in a cocktail. Or use a cube like an iced roller: smooth over clean face and neck to soothe, hydrate and refresh your skin.
