We’re always dreaming up new ways to boost our health— whether it be a thoughtful mocktail or an energy boosting morning tonic, we strive to keep things interesting. If you follow us on Instagram, you’ve probably seen us sipping on a concoction of some kind. Today we're discussing the ingredients behind our favorite lattes and elixirs.

Anima Mundi Herbals

Composed of medicinal botanicals found in nature, Anima Mundi’s offerings comprise of herbal supplements sourced directly from native farmers in Central and South America. Their focus, aside from offering the most pristine botanics available, is on sustainability— sourcing directly from native people  allows for a direct relationship from which to learn medicinal alchemy through botany, as well as adopt native wisdom. These trading practices support small businesses on both ends, allowing for an ethical exchange of both herbs and knowledge.

Mushroom Mocha Milk: This seven mushroom blend of Reishi, Chaga, Cordyceps, Lions Mane, Agaricus, Shiitake, Maiitake, combined with Anima Mundi's Coconut Creamer and heirloom cacao is your one-stop go-to for a morning coffee substitute. We love adding Bulgarian Rosewater for a floral kick and an additional mood booster.

Moringa-Master Mineralizer: Organically grown in Costa Rica or Jamaica (depending on the season), this leaf is dense in vitamins, high in protein, and has anti-aging effects.  Morings contains four more times the calcium of regular cow’s milk, 25 times more iron than spinach, 15 times more potassium than a banana, four times more vitamin A than a carrot and seven times more vitamin C than an orange. Due to its high vitamin C and E content, it can improve brain function by preventing degeneration of neurons. Moringa’s anti-aging component comes from “cytokinins,” which is what plants use to regenerate and heal. Cytokinins are known to delay the process that causes aging. Moringa is used as a natural energy booster due to its high levels of antioxidants and minerals. In Ayurvedic medicine, it serves as a digestive and blood cleanser, as it was able to remove impurities, toxins, parasites and metabolic waste, helping cellular rejuvenation and oxygenation.

Mushroom Mocha + Collagen Booster + Black Sesame Milk

Collagen-Booster: Composed of adaptogens, ancient herbs and flowers known to support and beautify, repair, and restore— this blend is an excellent plant based solution to those that want to strengthen their bones, nails, hair, tissue and skin with 100% herbs. Adaptogens plants that increase the body’s ability to counter and resist physical, chemical, biological, emotional, and environmental stressors by raising nonspecific resistance toward such stress. Adaptogens support metabolism, help restore balance to the immune, nervous, and endocrine systems, and allow the body to maintain optimal balance. They also benefit the liver, cardiovascular system, kidneys, and pancreas. Enhanced with horsetail and nettles, this supplement gives a youthful glow and restores keratin.

The Mind-Brain Tonic: Comprised mainly of lion’s mane mushrooms, brahmi, and tulsi, this tonic supports brain function by boosting mood, focus, and memory. In thinking of wellness as a holistic effort, caring for the body begins with the mind. Brahmi helps nerve endings grow and branch out, thereby forming more synapses between nerves in the hippocampus and amygdala, areas of the brain responsible for memory formation. This increases the volume and speed of communication between nerves. Similarly, Tulsi has been used in India for hundreds of years and is often referred to as an “elixir of life.” Tulsi helps to prevent disease, promote health, and aid in dealing with the stresses of daily life. Lion’s Mane uniquely contributes to this blend due to its anti-fatigue factors, which help with energy and clarity of the mind, as well as help in dealing with depression.
