Buccal & Fascial Release

Buccal & Fascial Release is a therapeutic treatment that combines full-face fascial release with intraoral (buccal) massage to address tension held within the muscles and connective tissue of the face, jaw, neck, and scalp.

Fascia is the body’s continuous web of connective tissue. It surrounds and supports every muscle, organ, nerve, and blood vessel, helping create both structure and movement throughout the body. When fascia becomes restricted through stress, repetitive facial expressions, dental procedures, jaw clenching, screen time, injury, or posture, it can contribute to facial tightness, headaches, reduced mobility, puffiness, and discomfort.

By working slowly and intentionally with this connective tissue, fascial release encourages the body to soften longstanding restrictions while improving movement, circulation, and lymphatic flow.

The treatment also includes buccal massage, a specialized technique performed both externally and inside the mouth using gloved hands. This unique approach allows the practitioner to access deeper muscles of the cheeks and jaw that cannot be reached through traditional facial massage alone, making it particularly beneficial for those who experience jaw clenching, TMJ discomfort, facial tension, headaches, or stress held in the face.

Every Buccal & Fascial Release session includes warm herbal compresses made with fresh parsley, mint, and ginger. Applied throughout the treatment, these compresses help soften facial tissues, encourage circulation, and prepare the fascia and muscles for deeper therapeutic work. The gentle warmth also supports nervous system relaxation, allowing the body to release tension more comfortably.

Benefits may include

  • Reduced jaw tension, clenching, and TMJ-related discomfort
  • Relief from facial tightness and muscular restriction
  • Improved circulation and lymphatic flow
  • Reduced puffiness and fluid stagnation
  • Improved mobility of the jaw, neck, and facial muscles
  • Enhanced facial contour through the release of muscular tension
  • Softer appearance of expression lines associated with chronic muscle tension
  • Deep relaxation and support for nervous system regulation

Available in 60-, 75-, and 90-minute sessions, each treatment follows the same therapeutic approach. Longer sessions simply allow more time to work comprehensively through the face, jaw, neck, and scalp, addressing deeper or more longstanding patterns of tension while supporting greater overall relaxation.

Buccal Massage

Buccal Massage is a focused treatment that concentrates exclusively on the deeper muscles of the face and jaw. Unlike Buccal & Fascial Release, which also addresses the connective tissue of the face, neck, and scalp, this session is designed specifically for clients seeking targeted muscular relief in a shorter treatment.

Performed both externally and inside the mouth using gloved hands, buccal massage allows the practitioner to access muscles of the cheeks, jaw, lips, and surrounding facial structures that are difficult to reach through traditional facial massage. It is particularly beneficial for those who experience jaw clenching, teeth grinding, TMJ discomfort, headaches, facial tightness, or stress-related tension.

Each session includes warm herbal compresses made with fresh parsley, mint, and ginger to soften tissues, encourage circulation, and prepare the muscles for treatment while supporting deep relaxation.

Benefits May Include

  • Reduced jaw tension and clenching
  • Relief from facial tightness
  • Improved circulation and lymphatic drainage
  • Reduced puffiness
  • Increased mobility of the facial muscles
  • Enhanced facial contour through the release of muscular tension
  • Softer appearance of tension-related expression lines
  • Deep relaxation in a focused treatment

Our 30-minute Buccal Massage is an excellent choice for those seeking targeted relief from jaw and facial tension, regular maintenance between Buccal & Fascial Release sessions, or a focused introduction to intraoral facial work.
