Recycling Beauty Packaging
In honor of Earth Day, we're shining a light on a simple, planet-forward action you can take that actually makes an impact—recycle your beauty product empties. Most cosmetic and skincare packaging isn't accepted in curbside recycling. That's where Terracycle comes in—and where Boketto makes it easy.
We've partnered with Terracycle to collect hard-to-recycle beauty packaging and make sure it’s processed responsibly. That means your used serum bottles, mascara tubes, lotion pumps, and other empties don't end up in a landfill or floating in the ocean.
How it works
Just bring your clean, empty beauty packaging to Boketto and drop it in the designated Terracycle bin. No need to separate by material—we’ll take care of the rest.
Here’s what we accept:
- Glass and plastic bottles
- Pumps, droppers, and caps
- Tubes, jars, and wands
- Even the tiny things you’re sure can’t be recycled—those too!
A few quick tips:
-
Please make sure everything is clean and dry. Residue can contaminate the batch, and make it harder to recycle.
- Don’t worry if the products weren’t purchased from Boketto—as long as they follow TerraCycle’s rules (above and below), we’ll recycle them anyway.
What not to drop in
We love your enthusiasm, but not everything can be Terracycled. Here’s what to leave out of the bin:
- Aerosol cans (like hairspray or dry shampoo)
- Nail polish bottles
- Razors or razor blades
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes
- Food containers or household cleaning products
- Full or partially full products (empties only, please!)
When in doubt, feel free to ask us—we’re happy to help guide you. We want this to be easy and effective, and keeping the bin clean ensures everything gets properly recycled.
This Earth Day (and every day), we’re proud to offer this simple way to tread a little lighter. So swing by, drop off your empties, and feel good knowing they’re headed for a second life—not the trash.
